1.) European Open Science Cloud (EOSC): #5. Open Call: EOSC within National Strategies for Digital Skills
|
The 5th Open Call was launched this week on EOSCsecretariat.eu
The EOSC Working Group on Skills & Training is looking for a team of experts to conduct a study to frame digital skills required in the EOSC into the wider European agenda for skills and provide recommendations for Member States/Associated Countries on how to include EOSC in national skills policies/strategies.
The target audience of the study are policy makers at all levels: Ministries shaping up national agendas; EC officials from different DGs (e.g., RTD, CNECT, EAC, GROW, IT); Research Performing Organizations for shaping organizational structures; Educational organizations for vocational training; Research funding agencies; EOSC Association; Industry associations; Civic Organizations/NGOs for understanding the skills landscape and involve their operations.
· Deadline for clarification questions: 13 July 2020
· Call closes: 15 July at noon (CEST)
· Period of contract: July – December 2020
· Budget available up to 60.000 EUR

2.) Invitation to participate in an online stakeholder survey into the use and re-use of health data in the light of the GDPR
|
Dear Madam, dear Sir,
The European Commission has initiated a study that aims to examine in which manners the processing of personal health data is governed across the European Union (EU) and how this might affect the cross-border exchange of health data in the EU in light of the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation). The study is executed by the EUHealthSupport consortium.
As part of this study we would like to invite you to participate in an online survey, aimed to collect the views of experts and organisations representing the wide range of stakeholders, including patients, care providers, industry, public bodies and researchers. The results of the study will be used to identify possible future actions to be developed at EU level, such as new legislation or codes of conduct for health data sharing for research or policy purposes, also in light of the current COVID-19 pandemic.
In total, the survey will take approximately between 10 and 15 minutes to complete. It will be possible to respond till Thursday 9 July 2020. You can find the survey via the following link:

Your input will be treated confidentially and answers in the final report will be formulated in such way that they cannot be traced back to individual organisations or persons.

The EUHealthSupport Consortium is composed of (Lead) Nivel (Netherlands institute for health services research); RIVM (National Institute for Public Health and the Environment of the Netherlands); infeurope S.A.; Association of Medical Schools in Europe e.V (AMSE); Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI), and Leginda GmbH under the Single Framework Contract ‘Chafea/2018/Health/03 - for the provision of support services for managing expert groups in the field of (public) health’. About the study:
The study consists of the following elements:
1. A mapping and legal analysis at national level – providing an overview of legislation and governance models regarding processing of health data
2. In-depth case studies of national governance models
3. Workshops held with (predominantly) the participation of representatives of the national ministries of health, dealing with personal data use
4. Literature review for the development of a background paper
5. Survey among experts and stakeholders to the priorities, position and needs of the actors in the field
The outcomes of the study will be used to consider which further action is needed at EU level. The first results will be used as input for a meeting of Ministries of Health in the EU (EPSCO) in July 2020, addressing the future governance for primary and secondary use of health data, to take place under the German EU Presidency.

Sehr geehrte Damen und Herren,
coronabedingt müssen wir die diesjährige, 4. RUHR School of Modern Epidemiology um ein Jahr, auf den 25. August bis 27. August 2021 verschieben. Dankenswerterweise hat sich Herr Naimi dazu bereiterklärt, auch im kommenden Jahr zum gleichen Thema zur Verfügung zu stehen.

4.) MedAI 2020 Conference vom 30.11. bis 01.12.2020: Jetzt als Online-Format und Verlängerung der Einreichungsfrist
|
Das Internationale Symposium on Artificial Intelligence MedAI 2020 vom 30.11. bis 01.12.2020 wird nun nicht in Lübeck, sondern als Online-Tagung stattfinden. Zugleich wurde die Einreichungsdeadline für Beiträge auf den 20. Juli 2020 verlängert.

5.) Universitätsmedizin Göttingen bietet im Rahmen des Bachelorstudiengangs Angewandte Informatik den Studienschwerpunkt Medizinische Informatik an
|
Der Studiengang ermöglicht eine Ausbildung im unmittelbaren Umfeld medizinischer Versorgung, die eine enge Verzahnung von Wissenschaft und Praxis ermöglicht. Nur wenige Hochschulen in Deutschland können dies bieten. Praxisnahe und zukunftsweisende Studieninhalte und die Vermittlung von Fachwissen durch hochqualifizierte Professor*innen und Dozent*innen zeichnen diesen Studienschwerpunkt aus. Das Bachelor- und auch das Mastercurriculum sind international begutachtet und akkreditiert. Für unsere Absolvent*innen bedeutet dies eine hohe Wertigkeit des Abschlusses im Ausland. Nach dem Abschluss bestehen hervorragende Berufschancen auf dem Arbeitsmarkt.
Die Möglichkeit diesen Studiengang zu belegen ist dennoch relativ unbekannt. Um den Bekanntheitsgrad zu erhöhen und Studieninteressierte bei der Wahl für das richtige Studium zu unterstützen, wäre ich Ihnen sehr dankbar, wenn Sie den anliegenden Flyer an alle Interessierten weiterleiten würden.
